AT&T plans to merge its WarnerMedia Unit with Discovery

AT&T (NYSE:T) is spinning off its WarnerMedia unit and merging it with media company Discovery (NYSE:DISCA). In a restructuring move, AT&T is combining WarnerMedia with Discovery to form a new publicly traded media company. The transaction will generate $43 billion for AT&T in cash and debt.

AT&T shareholders will own 71% of the combined company, while Discovery shareholders will receive a 29% stake in the new company.

If all goes as planned, the transaction will close in mid-2022, and Discovery President and CEO David
Zaslav will lead the combined company.

Dividend increase #16 of 2021 : Telus Corporation

The TELUS Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.3162 per share on the issued and outstanding Common Shares of the Company payable on July 2, 2021 to holders of record at the close of business on June 10, 2021. This second quarter dividend for 2021 reflects an increase of 8.6 per cent from the $0.29125 per share
dividend declared one year earlier.

Dividend increase #15 of 2021 : Algonquin Power & Utils

OAKVILLE, ON, May 6, 2021  - Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. ("AQN") (TSX: AQN) (TSX: AQN.PR.A) (TSX: AQN.PR.D) (NYSE: AQN) announced today that the Board of Directors has approved an annual dividend increase of U.S.$0.0620 per common share to a total annual dividend of U.S.$0.6824 per common share, paid quarterly at a rate of U.S.$0.1706 per common share.

This is a 10% increase over the previous quarter dividend.
