 Sampo Oyj (HEL:SAMPO) board proposes a dividend of 1.70€ per share from year 2024. Full dividend on previous year was 1.80€ but it included 0.20€ extra dividend. So this is actually a 6% increase in base dividend

Sampo Oyj split 1-to-4 announced

Sampo Oyj (HEL:SAMPO) board announced a split 1-to-4 on stock. This split is going to happen on 12th of February and as I own 41 shares of Sampo Oyj my position will change to 164 shares.

Dividend decrease #5 of 2024 : Sampo Group Oyj

Sampo Group Oyj (HEL:SAMPO) board proposes dividend of 1.80€ from year 2023. This consists of 1.60€ base dividend + 0.20€ extra dividend. Dividend from previous year was 2.60€ per share but that included Mandatum Oyj also which is now spinned to its own company. Technically this is now a reduction in dividend but let's see what is the dividend from Mandatum Oyj.

Sampo Oyj (HEL:SAMPO) spinned-off Mandatum Oyj (HEL:MANTA). I received 41 shares of Mandatum Oyj. 

Sampo planning to spin-off Mandatum

Board of Directors of Sampo announced a strategic review of Mandatum’s role within the Group. Following an assessment of options, the Board has resolved to propose a partial demerger of Sampo plc to separate Mandatum from the Sampo Group.

The demerger would create a leading pure-play Nordic P&C insurer capable of delivering high and stable returns on capital, and an independent Mandatum.

As demerger consideration, Sampo shareholders would receive one new share in Mandatum plc, the company to be incorporated in the demerger on the effective date, which is expected to be 1 October 2023, for each existing series A or series B share in Sampo plc. Mandatum would only have one share class. Shares in Mandatum would be admitted for trading on Nasdaq Helsinki.

As I currently hold 41 shares of Sampo Group, this would mean that I will be receiving 41 shares of Mandatum once this demerger will be completed.

 

Dividend increase #9 of 2023: Sampo Group

Sampo Group board proposes dividend of 2.60€ per share from year 2022. This is a nice increase of the base dividend from previous year which was 2.10€. In previous year Sampo Group paid extra dividend which brought the total amount higher but technically this is a increase as the base dividend growa 23.81%

 

Dividend increase #9 of 2022 : Sampo Group Oyj

According to Sampo plc’s Dividend Policy published on 6 February 2020, the total annual dividends paid will be at least 70 per cent of Sampo Group’s net profit for the year (excluding extraordinary items). For this purpose, “extraordinary items” are defined as accounting items related to the sale of Nordea shares during 2021 and the change in Sampo Group’s ownership in Nordax Bank AB.

The parent company’s distributable capital and reserves totalled EUR 8,565,347,307.19 of which profit for the financial year 2021 was EUR 2,639,015,210.13. Based on the policies outlined above, the Board proposes to the Annual General Meeting that a total dividend of EUR 4.10 per share be paid to all shares except for the shares held by Sampo plc on the dividend record date of 20 May 2022. The total dividend includes an insurance dividend of EUR 1.70 per share as well as the dividend of at least EUR 2.00 per share that management indicated it will propose in connection with the sale of Nordea shares on 26 October 2021.

As earnings per share excluding extraordinary items amounted to EUR 2.86 per share, the payout ratio for the total dividend equates to 143 per cent. The remainder of the distributable funds are left in the equity capital. After adjusting for the proposed dividend, Sampo Group’s 2021 year-end distributable funds amounted to EUR 6,323 million, Group Solvency II coverage to 185 per cent and financial leverage to 27 per cent.

The dividend is proposed to be paid to the shareholders registered in the Register of Shareholders held by Euroclear Finland Oy as at the record date of 20 May 2022. The Board proposes that the dividends be paid on 31 May 2022.

Dividend increase #5 of 2021 : Sampo Group

Sampo Groupr reported results today and board proposal for dividend for year 2020 is 1.70€ per share. Previous year Sampo Group paid 1.50€ per share so this is a nice 13.3% increase in dividends.

Since I own 36 shares of SAMPO this change will increase my 12 month forward dividends by 7.20€

Sampo decreases dividend

Sampo Group (HEL:SAMPO) decreases dividend to 1.50€ per share from previously announced 2.20€ due to Corona Virus situation affecting business. Well..not nice, but this was expected.

Sampo board proposes dividend of 2.20€ per share, last year dividend was 2.85€ per share so this is a -22.8% deduction. Well, it was not a suprise as they provided this information already last year after extra dividend when Nordea shares were distributed to Sampo share owners

Sampo board has decided to pay extra dividend as shares of Nordea. For every ten (10) shares of Sampo, owner will get one (1) share of Nordea. Since I own 31 shares of Sampo, I will be getting 3 shares of Nordea. Dividend ex-date is on 8th of August and Nordea shares will be give on 12th of August.

Re-invested Sampo dividends back into Sampo in advance by adding 10 shares of Sampo at 42.27€ per share. I now hold 31 share of Sampo Group.

Sampo board proposes dividend 2.85€ per share to be paid from year 2018. Last year dividend was 2.60€ so this is a 9.6% increase in dividends

Since I own 21 shares of SAMPO this change will increase my 12 month forward dividends by 5.25€
